EDUCATION SECTOR

It is a frightening tragedy that literacy rate here in Pakistan is nearly 27-30 %. It is very low as compared to our neighbouring countries in South Asia. The main factor of illiteracy and ignorance is that almost 40% people are living below poverty line. Remedy Welfare & Development Organization(RWDO) has started following activities to minimize illiteracy.

EDUCATIONAL CENTERS

RWDO has launched an enormous struggle to minimize illiteracy and started five educational Centers in the different slums of Multan like Qasimbela, Razaabad, Grassmandi, Gulzaib colony and Qasimpur. During the past two years many boys and girls have completed their education and got admissions for higher classes.

COMPUTER CENTER

Since Computer education is getting more and more important day by day. RWDO also started two computer training centers, one in Gulnar Colony, Multan and second in Whalayatabad, Multan. So far 60 students have completed their trainings and 40 students are doing the professional courses. These courses will help them to select their career in future.

ADULT LITERACY CENTER

RWDO has been running an adult education center successfully since last three years.At present 58 students are learning to read and write.They attend their class in evening after their daily work. Some of them show much interest in learning. They have a strong desire to use their learning at their job places.Keeping in mind the demand of poor communities, RWDO has decided to set up more adult Literacy centers other areas.

HEALTH SECTOR

Remedy Welfare and Development Organization is running a hospital (Alliah Surgical Hospital) in the rural area of Multan.A number of patients are daily benefited from this hospital. A Mother and child health care unit is also working in this hospital, where women and children are getting basic health facilities. Reproductive health services, Contraceptive and vaccination are also being provided to the people.

It is our strong wish to provide primary health service to the women and children in other rural areas. The existing health facilities are inadequate for poor people of rural areas. It is our cherished vision to provide more health facilities to the women and children at their doorstep.

RWDO plans to establishing Mobile Health Units to provide health facilities in the far-flung rural areas. It can only be possible if God fearing people give their hands to achieve the goals of RWDO with their technical, moral and financial support.
